        Not at all.   yuvdenoise reduces noise where the -N option is a lowpass
        filter and is a gentle rolloff of the high frequencies which are not
        necessarily noise (but which take many bits to encode).    Might cause
        a slight softening of the image (which can be a Good Thing many times)
        but can save a ton of bits and that's often a primary concern for
        the SVCD format (less so for DVDs where a higher bitrate budget is
        available).

        One combination that I'm finding works well is using yuvdenoise and
        yuvmedianfilter but leaving off the -N to mpegenc.   Quite good looking
        I think.
