You should download the jpeg-mmx libary from the mjpeg file area on SF, compile it and do NOT install it. When running the libmovtar configure again. You will very likely have to add manually the path to the jpeg-mmx lib.
BTW: When you compile the mjpeg tools you might also need to add the path to the jpeg-mmx.
