        I've seen that happen also.   That's why I asked "is the
        quicktime4linux-1.4 still being maintained" on the developers
        list the other day.

        Having quicktime4linux-1.4-patches around is hazardous to mjpegtools'
        health it seems ;(

        The workaround is to move the quicktime4linux-1.4 directory aside
        so that the old dv.h file is not used.

        A longer term solution would be to use the libquicktime project:
        libquicktime.sourceforge.net - it has a modern 'DV' plugin and 
        libquicktime is quicktime4linux compatible - should be fairly 
        straightforward to switch mjpegtools over to using it (the necessary
        "#ifdef HAVE_LIBQUICKTIME" lines appear to be present already).
