I'm sure Matto will give you more info, but it's more related to libdv's
mangling of the 411 data in the NTSC frames to produce 422, which is in
turn is managled to 420 for mjpeg tools...

Dunno about knowing about it, but I've been testing Matto's patch here
and no harm has befallen any of the mjpeg tools with his mods yet...
will run a few more tests before posting to CVS though.
