Erm, since when does the LML33 support write() (which is what cat file > /dev/... basically does)? As far as I know, LML's driver doesn't do that (it didn't last time I checked), and ours definately doesn't either, not even the new one (write()/read() is still on my TODO list). So this sounds a bit odd. Why do you think LML33 supports cat'ing files to /dev/mvideo/frame? Since I just answered your same question on the V4L mailinglist, I'll omit that part here. ;-).
