Hmmm.... sounds like a limitation of the current dvdauthor.
The .VOB's on a DVD can be a single MPEG stream split across multiple files
to avoid (you guessed it) a 1GB file size limit. I haven't had enough time
to play with DVDauthor to check whether it handles this situation.
I suspect the reason it is giving you errors is that it treats each seperate
mpeg file as a seperate sequence and thus expects to see system headers and
a clean run-in / run-out for each seperate file. Basically, short of
transcoding there really isn't all that much you can do about this.
I'll be looking at this issue myself fairly shortly as I now have my own DVB
card to play with. I'm co-ordinating with the author dvdauthor to improve
the linking between it and mplex / mpeg2enc. Mainly stuff like writing
information dvdauthor needs into a seperate file to save complicated mpeg
parsing and so on.
I'll let you know how things progress.
Andrew
PS
Yes, the reason I haven't been coding as much as I'd hoped is that I've been
playing with the DVB stuff ;-)
