Keywords: green noise composite v4l video4linux lavrec bttv I'm new to mjpegtools and video capture in general.
I would like to make a PVR so I can record shows into SVCD (so I'll actually watch, rather than forget them as I so often do). I have the following hardware and software installed AMD K6-2/450 256MB RAM 80GB+ HDD bt878 (card=30) video4linux Sound Blaster Live! (emu10k1 module) Linux 2.4.20 mjpegtools 1.6.1 compiled from source (./configure --without-aviplay). xawtv and mplayer can view the images perfectly well (although the colour and brightness need tweaking). I'm currently viewing through composite (Composite1). Sound comes from line in (/dev/dsp), via loopback cable from the card. I use this command to try to capture some video. lavrec --software-encoding --format=a --input=p --audio-source=l --mute --use-read --geometry=320x240 --time=10 test.avi (I've tried using -d1 and -d2 in lue of --geometry, but it refuses to start. I think its because I'm using software encoding). However, when I play it back (using lavplay or mplayer) shows as just a green with noise at the top 1/5th of the screen, and the sound is noisy. I cannot reproduce what I see using xawtv. Normally, my VCR (from which I an getting my source from) is blue, so its not that. /dev/video is not in use while lavrec is recording. Also (not sure if its related), but I get a very large (110 over 10 seconds) inserted frames (0 deleted). There are no audio errors or lost frames. Additionally, when lavrec exits, it complains with the following line **ERROR: [lavrec] Error resetting tuner audio params: Invalid argument Can anyone help me with this? PS. Is there any useful IRC channels out there for this? Thanks in advance. -- Cameron Kerr Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Website: http://nzgeeks.org/cameron/ ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Mjpeg-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mjpeg-users
