352x288 is a valid MPEG1 PAL DVD resolution but is it also OK for MPEG2 PAL DVD? Can I rip, unmux and burn a 352x288 XSVCD to a DVD?

My Pioneer 444 PAL DVD player plays (X)SVCDs at 480x576, 352x576, 720x576 and even a VCD-like 352x288 MPEG2 with both 44.1 and 48 kHz audio.

352x288 XSVCD is my current favorite with low bitrates such as 1455 kb/s although I must sacrifice interlacing with so little vertical resolution. On the other hand, I have found that progressive ouput is less blocky compared to interlaced output especially with low bitrates so overall I have been quite pleased with the results with low-res, low-bitrate XSVCDs.

But can I easily re-burn 352x288 MPEG2 as a valid DVD in the future?

(Legal DVD resolutions are PAL 720x576, 704x576, 352x576 or NTSC 720x480, 704x480, 352x480 for MPEG2 and PAL 352x288 or NTSC 352x240 for MPEG1).
