Hey Anders, I've currently got a fully-working Typhoon mapping, minus VU LEDs (haven't gotten around to those fully yet). I'd be happy to send you my mapping if you're interested, and was planning on posting it to the forum and (possibly) committing it to bzr once finished with the VUs.
To answer your question, the second hex digit of the status byte is the channel.
