It is only guaranteed for releases and not snapshots, where it will be hit and miss. You can compare a SHA256 from various servers that you trust whilst getting the .iso from any mirror, bearing in mind that they aren't all in sync as the snapshots are released so often and even one server might have it's SHA256 out of sync with it's own .iso when you happen to come along.
