Symon does report errors about it's pid file Symux tested on 4.7 release and 4.8 stable requires exec permission on /var/run which is the default and so probably wasn't worth posting this. Still seems a bit funny though. Instead of "/var/run/symux.pid permission denied" as symon would. symux's error switches between "opening or saying it can't open rrds" to stating: /usr/local/libexec/symux: can't load library 'libfontconfig.so.7.0' most often or /usr/local/libexec/symux: can't load library 'librrd.so.3.0' If it has x access on /var/run but can't write it's pid then symux just runs without error.
