If the machine in question is a uni-north based machine, it should
be able to boot from a usb device, best suggestion I have is find
a usb key (flash), dd cdXX.iso directly to the usb key on another machine
(sdXc), and then it should be possible to boot from that.

it will be necessary to look thru the list of devices on the machine:
'dev /'
'ls'

to find what name is appropriate for the device

might be something like
'boot u...@2/d...@1:,ofwboot 4.8/macppc/bsd.rd'
