My conclusion:

Marco's suggestion that I look for cards with the letters IR/IS or IM led me
to
buy a Fujitsu LSI MegaRAID 1064 Part-NoS26361-F3257-L4 which has the -IR in
its
firmware name and a SAS1064LE chip.
It looks good but I'm still waiting for the SAS -> SATA cable which I forgot
to
order with the card.

Jurjens suggestion to buy an HP EH417AA is also great, since it is easily
available and is in the same price range as the Fujitsu.

The more expensive Areca cards I leave for the more serious Raid enthusiasts
