arrrg, no, of course not vpn, vnc is what I meant. For example have a look at the thightvnc package. But this doesn't support encryption either. ssh tunneling would be the way to go I think. At least this will probably be easier using a vnc solution, because it does not need dozens of ports to be forwarded.
