Hi,
I'm running 4.7/amd64 (release) on a server and client. The client has
his /home and a /mnt/_storage mounted via NFS from the server:
server:/export/home on /home type nfs (noatime, nodev, nosuid, v3, udp,
soft, intr, rdirplus, timeo=100)
server:/export/storage on /mnt/_storage type nfs (noatime, nodev,
nosuid, v3, udp, soft, intr, rdirplus, timeo=100)
When I run Firefox on the client and have >4 downloads running (= ca.
200KB/sec, writing to the NFS /mnt/_storage) it stops responding every
ca. 30 seconds with the (top) wait status "vinvalb" for about 5 seconds.
From "man vinvalbuf" I understand that this is about some file system
buffers flushing, but looking at the various systat logs I can't get any
further clue if there may be a bottleneck.
Is there any way to avoid those "hangs" or where could I investigate?
Any hint or further information is very welcome.
Thanks!
kind regards,
Robert
