No not accidentally but by purpose.
This is an OpenBSD router which cause the issues and as far as I remember,
there were some users on this list with similar setups too.
Since I could not find any help on OS X forums/list I tried it finally here as
last resort before giving up using ral(4) in hostap mode.

I may should have add [somewhat offtopic] to the subject, sorry for confusing
you.
