I got this new Acer Apsire laptop and it has an athn(4) wireless in it... I am currently using this to connect to my home network.

It has access permission turned off, no encryption (testing purposes only, but it only has WEP) When I do a scan of the wireless in the area, I get the output you see above. The droid is on, with tethering enabled. The nwid is "free_net". the "lladdr" entry is the Droid, but I can't connect to it. There is a DHCP on the phone and when I connect using a windows box, it sees the nwid in the wireless survey, connects and receives an IP, and I'm able to surf web and network with no issues. With -current (apr 28) , athn0 keeps saying "no link......... sleeping". I'm adding the nwid, and I set the mode to "11b", as that is what is being used by the phone. There is no setting to "hide" the nwid, the output just shows as above, with no I also tried this with a rum(4) that I have laying around, and I am having the same issue, so it's not the athn card... r...@openbsd-host ~ # ifconfig rum0 nwid 'free_net' r...@openbsd-host ~ # dhclient rum0 rum0: no link .......^C r...@openbsd-host ~ # ifconfig rum0 bssid 08:00:28:fe:ee:ca r...@openbsd-host ~ # dhclient rum0 rum0: no link ....^C r...@openbsd-host ~ # ifconfig rum0 chan 5 r...@openbsd-host ~ # dhclient rum0 rum0: no link ............. sleeping r...@openbsd-host ~ # ifconfig rum0 mode 11b r...@openbsd-host ~ # dhclient rum0 rum0: no link ....^C r...@openbsd-host ~ # ifconfig rum0 scan rum0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 lladdr 00:0e:3b:0a:ca:28 priority: 4 groups: wlan media: IEEE802.11 autoselect (DS1 mode 11b) status: no network ieee80211: nwid free_net chan 5 bssid 08:00:28:fe:4e:eb 48dB 100dBm nwid Olympus chan 6 bssid 00:1d:7e:cc:9d:ab 114dB 54M privacy,short_preamble,short_slottime nwid TekChic chan 2 bssid 00:22:6b:58:45:9a 107dB 54M privacy,short_slottime nwid 2WIRE963 chan 1 bssid 00:23:51:10:82:c1 103dB 54M privacy,short_preamble,short_slottime lladdr 08:00:28:fe:ee:ca 47dB 54M ibss,short_preamble,short_slottime cache here is the dmesg, I'm build a bleeding edge as I write this, and if it "fixes" it, I will reply...
