Your default route should have another interface. Is that native IPv6
we are talking about?

I am dubious about your IPv6 address: 2a01:238:426e:5c00::1 prefixlen 56

My IPv6 address is a /64, and this is pretty much what i always set:
inet6 2001:xxxx:xxxx:5::2 prefixlen 64

My default route for IPv6 is
default      2001:xxxx:xxxx:5::1            UGS        2   136968
-     8 sis1

A traceroute6 from my side stops there:

 3  linx.he.net  19.293 ms  22.45 ms  19.142 ms
 4  10gigabitethernet1-1.core1.ams1.he.net  27.427 ms  27.536 ms  26.855 ms
 5  10gigabitethernet1-1.core1.fra1.he.net  33.776 ms  41.229 ms  35.44 ms
 6  atuin.rzone.de  34.648 ms  34.213 ms  34.659 ms
 7  te-0-1-0-4.core-b1.ip6.rz-ip.net  47.937 ms  48.241 ms  47.623 ms
 8  vl429.dcata-b13.ip6.rz-ip.net  49.78 ms  47.823 ms  47.266 ms

You need to understand your setup, and read about it some more. Same
advice was given to me on this very list and I found it valuable.
