Isn't it quite reverse logic? If you have Windows partition then I suppose that you want dualboot. In this case your Windows will be on first primary partition and OpenBSD can be installed without problems to second partition of type FAT32. Then you just need to switch to A6 type and it's all. I'm using it same way. But of course there can be still bug you mentioned.
