But I also saw the suggestion to read books, well there are mountains of books and some of them are very good, but many of them are absolute crap. I sure can't afford to buy five garbage books on code that cost $49.95.

My library system doesn't have much even with interlibrary loans.

The developers all already know how to code well, us newbies who are self-taught could use something that you might find difficult to provide since you don't really need it anymore: Which books have appropriate information for OpenBSD? How about opening a few new or old books and listing a few good ones.

I'd like to know a few good ones on C and the make process.

Good luck ... my main problem is TIME - there's always a million other things to do! (So I appreciate the developers even more for giving their time and efforts.)
