wherever i look on the net, all people writing about mbr's and
other "beginning of disk" structures, sectors, all of them starts
with "bear in mind, there is no accepted standard for this".

it wouldn't be the pc industry if it didn't go on with such a basic
data structure going undocumented, without a standard since its conception.

well LBA is just an index basically (on the surface).
looks like an adress in RAM to me...
