Hello I have a D945GCLF2 for almost 2 months, and it works well with OpenBSD 4.4. I use it with the stock fan disabled and with an 120mm Nexus RealSilent that covers almost the whole board. To make it fanless, I think the best solution is a bigger heatsink for the north bridge like [1], of course, if you have space for it. My temps are lower, due to ambient temperature in this period of year:

Also, the stock fan is very noisy, even at 50% speed in BIOS. [1] http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=50620&highlight=d945gclf2
