Nikolay, yes, I have started to think it's a hw problem... I just made a fresh install of everything and I am getting similar problems I was installing tuxpaint for my child and... see messages Now I am testing the laptop with one of those linux live CDs; the boot has the option memtest86 It's completed 50% of the tests and everything is looking fine...
