this implies a 1:1 correspondence between the packets on enc0 and the, in my case, ESP packets on the real interface, and the sequence of operation: Packet -> enc0 -> real interface. I'm not sure whether or not that is a wise assumption (what about fragmentation and reassembly?), but if it is, there'd not be a problem.
