I've just installed 4.3 on a HP DL360 G5 and everything is working
fine except I can't seem to get the status of the raid. It has two
disks in a single raid 1+0 configuration via the on board smart array
card (I've noticed the limitation of one logical volume per
controller). The ciss0 device appears in dmesg (included below) but
trying bioctl with it complains with the following:
# bioctl ciss0
bioctl: Can't locate ciss0 device via /dev/bio
I can get back some details relating to the presented logical volume
but nothing that will let me know if one of the disks has failed:
# bioctl sd0
sd0: <HP, LOGICAL VOLUME, 5.20>, serial (unknown)
The ciss man page suggests that more details can be found via
hw.sensors but all I get are temperatures:
# sysctl hw.sensors
hw.sensors.acpitz0.temp0=8.35 degC (zone temperature)
hw.sensors.cpu0.temp0=38.00 degC
I want to monitor the raid as it will be deployed in a remote
location. Is there something I've missed or a different command I
should try?
