It is uncertain if OpenBSD will run on the SL-C1000. I suspect that the hardware is nearly identical to the SL-C3200 , which OpenBSD supports just fine. Of course without the HD. The missing HD might cause configuration issues or not. There is a reasonably good chance that with just a few tweaks OpenBSD would run just fine on CF media in the removable bay, in fact it may work without any tweaks.
