Well I am suspecting it is a combination of nv driver AND the window manager used in Xfce4... that's why I want to ask if it happens purely on nv driver, and in that case, I might have to go for ATi as suggested by others. But since your machine is good with blackbox/kde, I'll try them out and see... so thanks for your reply!
