Hi everyone! I have an 12/9 Mbit vdsl line and have found that since i
installed openbsd the ftp speed is strange.
PF is defaulting as allow and i only use it for blocking nfs and some usual
services in inetd like time.

Real world examples follows: 50MB file.

wget http://*.mine.nu/file.rar
 55% [===================>                 ] 27,881,380     1.11M/s    ETA
00:20
(pretty much stable around that speed) actually a bit TO fast seen to the up
line speed of 9 :)

wget ftp://*.mine.nu/pub/file.rar
41% [==============>                      ] 20,935,184   660.07K/s    ETA
00:43
(not super stable, some times dipps to 3-400K/s and never faster than this)

scp *.mine.nu:/var/www/htdocs/file.rar .
fairview-war.rar                               42%   20MB 621.6KB/s   00:45
ETA
(pretty stable speed)

So anyone have any good, wild or crazy ideas of why ftp is slow?

OpenBSD 4.2-current (GENERIC) #609: Fri Dec 21 23:51:53 MST 2007

Thanks in advance.
