I'll try dd if 'z' doesn't work, but just 'z' worked a few minutes ago. Thanks. Just for the record, I have noticed that the issue is not with "downgrading to 4.1 disk label" actually. To be more accurate, it is with "upgrading to 4.2 after downgrading to 4.1". Because, one has to do all of the following to reproduce it: 1. Install 4.1 on a blank HD 2. Upgrade it to 4.2 3. Install 4.1 on the same HD without zeroing the disk label 4. Try to upgrade (or even install) it to 4.2 and you shall have the problem. Anyhow, thanks again.
