I consider it rude to receive duplicate email.
Except in his case, He is not subscribe to the list and if you don't cc
him, he will simply not get it.
Plus, he is rude on the list by passing fud, so nothing wrong to be rude
back by ccing if you want.
If you are going to flame rms, it is best to keep him cc'd.
That's the spirit, no doubpt about that.
