hmm, requires libhal and vamps. vamps only requantizes the mpeg stream. tcrequant from the transcode package can requantize mpeg streams. IIRC, vamps is based on the same code as tcrequant. plus, requantizing isn't that great. rip the program streams and then reencode with ffmpeg. I fit _Star Wars_ and _Blazing Saddles_ on one 4.7GB DVD by doing this, and they looked better than a requantized _Star Wars_ that was too big to fit another title on that DVD. you'll have to create a menu for dvdauthor, but if what you're looking for is a way to copy/create DVDs on *nix, it's an important (the only?) tool for the job. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] SDF Public Access UNIX System - http://sdf.lonestar.org
