Try playing with accelleration options in your xorg.conf file (generate it, if you don't have it yet and switch options from there). For the laptop, it sounds like the cursor accelleration is broken. Matthieu has just committed something that fixes some accelleration- related stuff. I dont know if it's the problem you're seeing that he fixed, but may be worth trying out (I noticed from your dmesgs that you seem to have Intel video hardware) : Modified files: driver/xf86-video-intel/src: i830_driver.c Log message: Default to XAA acceleration since EXA produces stack overflows for now.
