It's fairly common for them to get grabbed right as they leave the x-ray
machine.  The laptop goes through, then the queue of people stops and
your computer moves on without you.

I don't put mine on unless there is a clear path for me all the way
through or the waiting area is fully enclosed.  The TSA circus is just
that, a circus, and makes no improvement in any aspect of travel, let
alone security.  And actually it appears to increase the probability
that my baggage or its contents get ripped off.

I refuse to be rushed in the queue: I've got 2-3 hours before each
flight thanks to the 2000 coupe d'etat.

I have been pleased with the PowerBook G4 and displeased with the
MacBook Pro Duo core.  The latter is hotter and consumes almost 2x the
power.
