No one said it is impossible, it is just far harder than it should be due to a lack of documentation and companies like Red Hat signing NDAs with Marvell. The specific chip the OLPC people are using thus far does not seem to be found anywhere else in the market. Combine that with a quirky non standard machine with limited availability and you see why people aren't terribly interested.
