Not sure - I don't have sufficient hardware (packet sinks) to actually test it. I doubt it'll make a bit of difference with IMIX traffic. It might just do with 1500-byte packets. But, from my guesstimates, I think you'd need to be using jumbo frames to get the PPS low enough that you don't run out of CPU before you run out of bus bandwidth at 64/66 anyway. (btw, the older quad em(4) with ibm/tundra bridges work ok in the H8SSL motherboard, it's the newer ones with pericom bridges that have the problem).
