The public visibility is good for those people who have to chivvy
their employers to contribute. So although it seems like a very
trivial thing (and you guys have a million better things to do,) it
does make a difference to some of us who are trying to get some more $
$$s in the kitty.
PHB: So what did we get for our $$$s?
DEV: A splendid OS that has proven its worth a thousand times over,
this CD, and ... our ***name on a web page***!
(Guess which one has the wow factor? Well, with some employers.)
And pre-ordering can be complicated to explain ...
PHB: We order in September, and get something in November???
PHB: And how much is it going to cost?
DEV: Errrrm, it depends on the exchange rate.
So my personal pre-order is in (and I'm counting down the days!), but
an order from my employer will have to wait until nearer the release
date.
Thanks to the OpenBSD developers - your work is much appreciated.

Decreasing CD sales means the margins have to be adjusted. More of
you are relying on our FTP services, and also donating less.

Hey Theo just a quick suggestion to increase the cash donations:
Why aren't the web-order-cash-donations (no longer) added to the
donations.html page ? Sad but unfortunately true there are petty
people
like me for whom that actually matters.
They are, but there is a lot of latency. Yes, that really sucks.
Perhaps I will take a shot at 'pushing' a lot of them forward today.
