I studied the NOT_FOR_ARCHS flags in the ports tree and only noticed a few ports (samba not included) that, from what I could see, would not compile on landisk, but maybe the tree is not entirely updated in this sense, waiting for shared libs on landisk...
The toolchain does not support dynamic libs, drahn@ added support which triggered a bug, so dynamic linking support was removed. I know I couldn't install python because it wouldn't build static. I believe that is related to why Samba won't build, but that is a WAG on my part. diana
