   Am unable to play VCD's with mplayer. Am running a recent snapshot
on my laptop. I had the same problem with 4.0 .

$ sudo mplayer vcd://1//dev/rcd0c

Tried playing the files after mounting the VCD.

$ cd /mnt/cdrom/
$ ls

$ cd MPEGAV/
$ ls
AVSEQ01.DAT*
$ mplayer AVSEQ01.DAT
