I have my OpenBSD 4.0 system setup with root on RAID-1 and every mounted filesystem is also RAID-1 using the raidframe subsystem in the OpenBSD kernel. THe major problem is that after booting from an improper shutdown, the system will not attempt to mount any filesystems until the RAID-1 parity is rebuilt which takes about 3hrs on my system with a 160GB and 200GB RAID-1 arrays.
This does not happen often (big UPS), but is a royal pain when it does. Simply backgrounding the parity rebuild doesn't help much as the rest of init runs glacially while the parity is rebuilt.
