Just a quick postmortem for the mail archives etc, Always, always make sure your bios is up to date. Really. :-) After a successful pxe install, the same "ERR R" message appeared on hard reboot, at which point it was clear that there was a hardware problem. Checked comBIOS version, v1.15, current release? v1.29. In the v1.22 changelog I see: * IDE code reworked, should fix most if not all problems with non working Compact Flash Modules. <hits self with clue by four> This problem was self inflicted, but I did learn how to use a pxe install over http using a console, so I suppose it wasn't a complete loss.
