The timezone data is simply a set of dates and times to tell the system when to switch to/from DST. So without the patch, the system will not make any changes. Ntpd won't change this, as the DST change occurs on the next level. (i.e. ntp sets the system time, the system will then change that time based on the DST settings) please correct me if I am wrong.. Either way, you need that patch for things to work smoothly, and it isn't a difficult update to make. Regards, Jason
