The MacBook is different from the MacBook Pro. The first sign of trouble is that the UKC prompt doesn't work. It won't accept input. When booting without going to UKC, it shows various USB related error messages and the after a very long time comes to the install prompt, which doesn't accept input either. This happens both with an acpi-enabled bsd.rd and the default bsd.rd. I didn't have a chanche yet to diagnose this further. -Otto
