Hm, I think I'm having the same experience then. If I reboot(1) and have a (512MB) SD card inserted, I get the ``sdmmc0: can't enable card'' message at boot time, but upon reinserting it, OpenBSD recognizes it. If I don't have an SD card inserted, I have to poweroff(1) and power back on to get OpenBSD to recognize the SD card reader again.
