i read the manpage and am not certain it will work since users don't have
system accounts and all mail is delivered and owned by a single user,
_dovecot. it is possible to pipe emails using master.cf to an external
program. i'll experiment with vacation since yaa is something of a
headache to setup.
anybody already doing this with postfix + vacation and willing to share
their experience?
I don't know if you are married to dovecot for this application or not, but
what you want to is trivial to do with the sieve implementation within the
Cyrus IMAP server (which is in ports as well).
