Hi,
I was wondering if anyone was able to create Yahoo login/password without
running their CD. As I understand, the DSL installation CD just knows which
servers to go to to associate the phone line with the account information, lets
you create the user/password, and then stores user/password into the modem
(it's a new modem that handles pppoe internally). I guess this shouldn't be
impossible, as long as one knows which web site to go to for that account
creation part...
I know it's not an OpenBSD question, but imagine I don't have anything else at
home :)
Thanks !
Pawel.
You can always call them and say that the CD doesn't work in your
computer. They will help you create a username and password. You have to
act dumb with the 1st line support because everything is scripted. Don't
even mention any non-windows OS or you will get the "not supported" replies.
You can also go for Comcast, which does not use pppoe. I got sick of
PPPoE and when with Comcast.
