Hi again, I tried to run the kernel from the CVS, it seems to have acpi patches applied. It compiled just fine, but it causes more problems than it fixes... There's the list of new problems:
- For some reason, when booting the new kernel, it freezes just before detecting the cd drive. Taking the drive out fixes that. - Wireless nic won't attach with error "failed to resume the AR5212", see dmesg for details, its dev name is ath0. The laptop has wireless switch, which is supposed to hardware-disable bluetooth and wifi, and I'm pretty sure it's implemented through acpi. Under linux, it has no effect for the wireless card status, but the indicator does change. When booting OpenBSD, even if it was "on" before, it switches off. That's probably the reason why the nic isn't seen - it's disabled through acpi. - The marvell nic that caused problem with the original kernel isn't even detected. As I mentioned before, this is on the Fujitsu laptop with a lot of non-standard features that are accessed through acpi, so it might very well be that all or some of the problems are specific to this laptop. Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks.
