<-------------------------------------A----------------------------------> The Ouroboros of Adam Montague the trollmaster has emerged from under his pathetic bridge to again extort his toll with senseless passive aggression. "what is it this time?" asks the usually reasonable traveller of the wretched viaduct lurker. "it's like the time i flipped out about ruby on rails, when i couldn't STFU because it's unacceptable to me that anybody could possibly use solution X when solution Y works best for me. that means it is the best!" howled the troll. the traveller was confused for a moment then continued "different people find different solutions to the same problem, like schwinger and feynman, but to deny that they are both solutions is absurd". >> given a completely free hand, i would NEVER use windows machines for anything >> remotely important. however, i have been forced to interoperate with M$ users >> who could not get the "native" IPsec to work to their satisfaction and >> openvpn >> is a viable solution in this case. > >No, its avoiding the problem, not solving it. If you like openvpn that's >up to you. But its not a solution to getting ipsec between openbsd and >windows, and it is annoying to see it constantly offered here. > the fetid garbage-eating beast paused in thought for a moment and the traveller knew this was his moment to escape before the troll would tear him limb from limb for his insolence. he screamed and pointed behind the troll "oh my god, is that ruby on rails?!?" driving the beast into a rage. immediately thereafter the wayfarer slipped by sans toll. >> a solution involving M$, is IMO no solution at all, merely another example of >> turd polishing. since many peoples' brains are too limited in their >> flexibility, >> turd polishing is a painful reality when dealing with diverse computer users. > >The problem involves microsoft, not the solution. Adding a non-standard >and frankly rather crappy VPN is not going to magically take the dreaded >microsoft away. Nice work with the "M$" nonsense though, I'm sure all >of slashdot is proud of you. > the traveller thought he had escaped and made camp well away from where he had evaded the trollmaster. exhausted from the day's journey, he drifted to sleep after a few puffs from his pipe in front of the fire. he awoke in a panic and heard the leaves rustling entirely too close to his head. a roar accompanied the sensation of something gripping his face, one slimy hand squeezing his mouth open, the other pulling something out of the troll's purple velvet evening handbag. the traveller went into shock, felt small flat objects enter his mouth and the beast laughed heartily. "how do you like that, eh?" asked the troll. the traveller spat and he saw those little magnetic words that people have on their refrigerators come out of his mouth. "you put words in my mouth?" queried the man and the monster replied "you betcha!". once he safely arrived in a nearby town after this harrowing experience the wayfarer whipped up a posse to chase down and kill the twisted extortionist. in no time they found the unapologetic ignorant troll and cut him limb from limb with their sharp blades. the monster was reduced to a twitching mess of body parts, but those of us who played D&D know that trolls regenerate and will likely be really annoying all over again. >Adam feel free to cut this out, making sure to paste or tape the <--A--> sections together. do NOT make a twist since that could possibly imply that there is indeed only one side to this story. <-------------------------------------A---------------------------------->
