Yes I had tried setting the send and receive buffers to 65536
om 3.9 it helped but not much as I recall. I just tried setting the buffers on 4.0 and got ~57 MBps throughput, so thanks thats it better.

I am using the oh so precise and accurate ftp as a means of measuring throughput.

I know it is at best an imprecise method, but I was so far off my expectation I did not see the point in being more rigorous.


I just download the iperf package, I will see if I can get some more precise numbers.
