With a 2xPPro, I'm guessing you've got an LH Pro or similar. I've got an LH II, and the last time I tried bsd.mp on it there were plenty of problems, early MP servers did some odd things to make multi-processors work. I'd try a snapshot on the machine, and if that doesn't work on MP, you might be stuck using one processor. (Or fixing it, if you're so inclined).
