I have an older dual P3-800 Compaq DL360 that I'm planning on using as a test platform for Anil's Xen work. It panicked earlier this week while booting the Aug 30 snapshot install kernel (first dmesg below).

In private email, Theo gave me the standard PCIBIOS/MPBIOS rant and mentioned Portugal (enough said, you know who you are...)

I ran the SmartStart CD and re-enabled the onboard SCSI (the ciss RAID card was removed before I got ahold of the machine) and was able to install the Sep 1 snapshot.

Interestingly, the MP kernel does not see the second processor, even though the BIOS detects it on power up (second dmesg below).

Given the closing window as we approach 4.0, I'm not expecting anything to be addressed in an immediate manner in regards to the multiprocessor end of things.

What may be of more immediate interest are the clock adjustments below... note the jumps between ~13700s and ~2100s:

If any developers are interested in commenting or want more information, drop me a note. This isn't a priority or showstopper for me and I have enough to do with Real Life and 4.0 prep while Theo is out of town, but if anyone wants to take a stab, let me know...

Thanks!
